What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager position at Gypsy Cup?
Gypsy Cup the traveling café is opening a flagship location in the heart of Downtown Gilbert. Our new concept is an elevated coffee to cocktails experience and we’re looking for one the Valley’s best hospitality professionals to join the GYPSY CUP team as General Manager.
As General Manager, you would be responsible for managing all daily operations of the flagship in accordance with brand standards, as well as the oversight of employee development. Guest satisfaction is always our top priority, that said, other key duties include inventory management, food/supply purchases, establishing safe food handling practices and adhering to health and safety regulations. As GM you are tasked with meeting or exceeding expectations set by management according to budget, projections and managing profits. This is a full-time salaried position that requires approximately 50 hours of work per week. Holidays, nights and weekend hours are required, as well as the flexibility to cover shifts. We expect that you’ll lead by EXAMPLE, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for customers and a positive uplifting workplace for employees.
Financial Responsibility
Fiscal responsibility is a key component of the General Managers role at Gypsy Cup. The GM must develop, establish, implement and enforce proper and timely use of waste sheets, labor pro forma as well as control cash, credit, and other receipts by following company cash handling/reconciliation procedures. The GM is responsible for approving, tracking and reporting all expenses as well as attending meetings regarding budgeting/P&L with the owners. GM is tasked with maximizing efficiency and productivity while maintaining quality and customer service.
Purchasing Responsibility
Purchasing responsibility is an additional key component, requiring experience in inventory management, predictive ordering, and staying within designated budgets. Within this responsibility is reducing forms of shrinkage, or employee waste.
Our Ideal Candidate
3 years of General Manager with experience in a bar setting
Bachelors or Associates degree in Hospitality, Business or Management preferred
Understand POS Systems, Excel, - Toast is a plus
Servsafe and Responsible Alcohol Certifications are required
Experience in Kitchen Management is a plus
