Construction GPS Field Technician

Location: 9250 FM 2243 Leander, TX 78641

Hours: M-F 7am – 5:30pm and Saturday on rotation (7am – 3:00pm)

This position requires a person that is a highly motivated self-starter, who has good attention to detail, is goal oriented, has a strong work ethic and is willing to meet deadlines. The successful applicant must have experience in civil utility surveying. A working knowledge of GPS machine control is helpful.
We would consider training the right person in the use of our GPS survey/machine controls.

Experience:
•at least 1 year of experience is preferred, but not required.

GPS Survey Profile:

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

· Proficient with GPS survey equipment

· Installing, setup and maintain GPS machine controls on trenching equipment

· Assist in conducting preliminary and concept studies and designs to determine design criteria and operational requirements for civil work and roadway projects.

· Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.

· May collect field data using laptops or tablets and/or GPS.

· Performs quality control or quality assurance measures to check data, using specific methods to ensure our accuracy

· Understand design layouts, boundary and topographic surveys and construction staking.

General Requirements:

• Basic Microsoft office computer skills.
• Good previous work history required.
• Must be able to pass a background and drug test.
• Must have at least a 1/2ton rated truck.
