Habitat for Humanity Portland Region operates out of two offices (Hillsboro and NE Portland), three brick and mortar stores (Beaverton, Gresham, and Portland), one online/warehouse location (NE Portland), and several construction sites (varies). Position Overview:
The ReStore E-Commerce Manager is responsible for guiding all aspects of daily online store operations. As the lead innovator, their key responsibilities are to continually grow sales for the online store, oversee all warehouse operations, oversee the E-Commerce Associate, and positively impact profitability of the online store.
The above is accomplished through partnership with all stakeholders. The E-Commerce Manager works in collaboration with the VP of Retail, Procurement and Retail Directors, Store Managers, and the Donation Pick Up Team. A key objective for this position is to increase online store inventory turns through driving quantity and availability of products posted to the website. The E-Commerce Manager is a vital role positively influencing the ReStore’s financial health.
Responsibilities:
E-Commerce Operations
  • Ownership of the online store’s inventory quantity and quality offered.
  • Make strategic decisions to drive online sales goals.
  • Communicate regularly with the logistics team and Marketing Manager to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Ensure timely uploading of items for sale and efficiently cycle out old inventory.
Warehouse Oversight
  • Ensure all items in the warehouse are appropriately received and stored with an emphasis on safety practices
  • Collaborate with the logistics team for product flow from the Donation Pick Up team/stores to warehouse and serve as point of contact to receive donated product.
  • Communicate directly with applicable departments regarding product distribution.
  • Occasionally, the E-Commerce Manager may be required to drive a box truck as part of their duties.
Team Member and Volunteer Oversight
  • Plan team member work schedules to support warehouse operations.
  • Train team member(s) with the goal to duplicate efforts
  • Provide guidance on personnel policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with HR and the Retail Director for staff hiring and onboarding.
  • Evaluate and motivate Team Members to ensure high level work performance.
  • Support the volunteer program by conducting orientations and training for volunteers.
  • Perform other necessary duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Exemplary leadership skills, excellent interpersonal communication, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including supervising unexpected issues and emergencies.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate forward thinking strategies to evolve projects and achieve long term objectives.
  • Successful management experience with and understanding of all aspects of a multi-faceted retail/reuse operation, including budget management, staff management, and merchandise handling.
  • Ability to resolve customer, donor and staff issues and complaints with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage and communicate with the integrity, openness, and knowledge that promotes the culture and values of Habitat for Humanity and the ReStore’s mission.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of building strong teams with strong culture.
  • Operational experience, including hiring, performance management, scheduling, facility oversight and budget management.
  • In-depth understanding of e-commerce platform detail, with a focus on day-to-day management and problem resolution.
  • Minimum three (3) years management experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Experience working with not-for-profit organizations preferred.
  • A love of DIY, resale, teamwork, and Habitat for Humanity’s mission.
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Any qualifying combination of education, certification, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Warehouse/Office
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented, and casual
  • Job mostly operates in an open, warehouse environment
  • Position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, and occasionally kneeling
  • Employee must frequently lift, move, and/or load items over 50 pounds with mechanical assistance and/or a team lift
  • The employee will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and scanners
  • This position may be eligible for remote/hybrid work one day per week based on responsibilities, performance, and access to essential work-related resources.
Schedule may vary based on business need.
  • 40 hours a week (minimum one weekend day required)
  • Occasional overtime may be necessary
Starting Salary Expectations:
Minimum $57,500 to salary range midpoint of $70,058. Placement will generally not exceed the midpoint based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range is $57,500 to $83,375.
