Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, self-starting and results-oriented professional with experience in high touch corporate meetings, destination management, and events. The position requires a client service-oriented team player that is a dynamic and hard-working professional. Our ideal candidate is both creative and logistical, able to quickly and effectively manage the full cycle of meeting and events. 
 
Principal Responsibilities:   
  • Manage meetings and events from conception through onsite operation 
  • Full Scope Program Management to include: program specs, budget, timeline, vendor sourcing/contracts, floor plans, AV production, IT, offsite venues, restaurants, activities, tours, décor, entertainment, & transportation
  • Develop and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with Operations, and Sales teams as well as vendors, venues and strategic partners
  • Lead and/or collaborate on project teams, multi-task, enjoy working under pressure and problem solve
  • Source, hire, and manage staff, contractors, tour guides, and paid interns as needed.
  • Interact and communicate with client in a polished, respectful and professional manner 
  • Be an active and enthusiastic partner to the Sales Team by assisting with research and overall event strategy for initial proposal and budget development as needed
  • Exercise creativity in event design – venues, F&B, décor, entertainment, collateral, etc 
  • On-site leader, proactive, effective communicator, display grace under pressure
 
General Responsibilities:
  • Follow established processes including organizational workflow, maintain standard shared file folders with accurate and comprehensive documentation of event elements, and demonstrate best practices established for operational excellence.
  • Leverage technology tools and platforms as outlined in company processes.
 
Professional Requirements 
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in destination management or 3 years in corporate event management 
  • Bachelor’s degree in tourism, hospitality, event management or equivalent work experience preferred
  • An eagerness to stay in tune with what’s new, and changing trends  
  • Experience in planning and executing meetings is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to both lead a team, work as part of a team and work independently with enthusiasm 
  • Out of the box thinker, thoughtful, advanced negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects at once
  • Able to excel in an environment with changing deadlines and/or last-minute changes to scope of work
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills
  • Excellent computer skills, with focus on Microsoft Excel, Word & PPT 
  • Conduct all business matters fairly, honestly and ethically and with the utmost professionalism
  • Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends and travel as business demands
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs on occasion for onsite event operations 
Annual Salary: $75,000-$85,000 plus bonus/commission potential of an additional $20-$45K
