What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety & Quality Culture Champion (LCQ- Environmental) position at HAECO Americas?
Job Summary: The Safety & Quality Culture Champion is responsible for promoting cultural change at HAECO Americas Airframe Services sites (AFS) through site assessment, review of inputs and implementation of improvement initiatives. The Safety & Quality Culture Champion will be empowered to recommend changes to the company safety and quality processes based on the data compiled.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Review input data (e.g. SAG meetings, post-delivery reviews, QA, FAA & customer investigations)
2. Conduct active observations on the floor to assess behaviors promoting a safety culture
3. Create new metrics as necessary through coordination with the Business Improvement Lead
4. Identify opportunities and develop recommendations for minimizing or eliminating identified risks Recommendations may include: TOPSET investigation preventative actions, "quick fixes", and green belt projects
5. Participate with the Business Improvement Lead in green belt projects to drive cultural change
6. Under guidance of Project Coordinator, report status of the project to Governing Body on a periodic basis
7. Prepare status reports for Governing Body
8. Identify behaviors consistent with a safety culture
9. Develop mitigation strategies and monitor effectiveness of strategies implemented
10. Identify and recommend improvements of current processes across department boundaries.
11. Exchange best practices across sites through coordination with other champions.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Governing Body.
Accountabilities:
Accountable to Project Coordinator and Governing Body
Job Qualifications:Minimum:
1. High School graduate or equivalent
2. Four (4) years of experience working in an aircraft technician, Inspector or planning position
3. Highly effective communication skills
4. Proficient with MS Office applications (i.e. EXCEL / MS Project)
5. Must have moderate written and verbal communication skills
6. Read, write, and understand the English language
7. Ability to apply critical thinking skills when assessing current culture and developing recommendations for improvement.
8. Established positive relationships within HAECO enabling effective interaction with peers and superiors.
Preferred:
1. Six Sigma Greenbelt qualification
2. Engineering and Maintenance related background
Physical Requirements:
1. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, climb stairs, bend, and stoop as necessary
2. Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required
3. Normal office environment where approximately 70% of work is performed in a sitting position
4. Frequent exposure to the outside hangar areas for meetings and employee relations function for varying lengths of time
5. Infrequent local and out-of-town travel may be required involving driving and/or passenger travel on commercial aircraft
