Senior Privacy CounselThe Senior Privacy Counsel will join a small, dedicated Privacy team servicing Haleon'sbusiness, a leader in the development, manufacturing and marketing of over-the-counter (OTC) healthcare products. In this role, the Senior Privacy Counsel will act as the lead US contact to provide legal advice to Haleon on all aspects of US data privacy and cybersecurity and will also have input into the wider global privacy framework of the organization. The role includes advising on a range of technology and digital matters. This role will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Head of Privacy Legal, and will partner with the global Privacy Governance team, the Chief Information Security Officer, the Assistant General Counsel, Digital Legal, as well as many leaders within the Haleon business. This role provides significant opportunities for career development both within the Haleon US Legal team and throughout the broader Haleon Legal department.

Serve as Senior Privacy Counsel:
- Liaise and coordinate with Haleon business and compliance teams on privacy issues with a primary focus on the US market.
- Review, interpret, and assist with implementation of measures to ensure Haleon's compliance with new laws, regulations, official guidance and case law.
- Foster a data protection culture within the company and help implement essential elements of privacy law and cybersecurity compliance.
- Develop and maintain guidance and templates for Haleon business activities.
Provide subject matter expertise and leadership in the following business and compliance areas:
- Marketing, ad-tech and digital campaigns.
- Privacy and data diligence issues associated with mergers and acquisitions/ business development.
- Support and negotiate privacy/security terms in technology transactions and data transfers.
- Lead/advise the business in response to data incidents.
- Advise and develop tools and guidance on topics such as Privacy-by-Design, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and cookie banners/consent tracking.
- Develop and implement internal training to business and legal teams on cyber-security, and data incident response and reporting.
- Assist with security table-top exercises and playbook development.
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
- Strong academic background, Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree
- 3-5 years legal experience in the following substantive areas: US Privacy Law, Cybersecurity, and Incident Response and Management
- Familiarity with other global privacy laws: GDPR, PIPL, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, including careful listening to facilitate understanding of business needs, and the ability to translate complex legal considerations into practical business advice.
- Track record of accountability and sound judgment, including ability and willingness to take ownership of projects, prioritize and resolve issues, and obtain business results.
- Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
- Detail-oriented yet pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- High energy and motivation to learn new areas, stay current with relevant legal developments, influence leadership, and contribute to the success of the business and the Legal, Compliance & Company Secretariat department.
- CIPP/US certification
- Experience in consumer healthcare or fast-moving consumer goods industry
- Background in e-commerce and technology law, and marketing and data analytics issues
