What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Drafter / Designer position at Haley Ward?

Haley Ward, Inc is currently seeking a Civil Engineering Designer to join the Bangor or Saco office.
Function
The function of the Designer is to perform computer-aided design and drafting for preparation of engineering drawings for permitting and construction purposes, including but not limited to: creation of site plans, details, sections, profiles, site grading, and road and utility design.
Responsibilities

  • Works with engineers to develop drawing content and presentation.
  • Analyzes sketches, notes, layouts, details, and verbal instructions to determine the best approach for completion of drawings.
  • Applies company CADD standards and procedures for layering, sheet layout, etc.
  • Coordinates details and dimensions between drawing sheets.

Working Conditions
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting and at times, in a field environment; to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate amounts of weight; and to operate assigned equipment and vehicles. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in an engineering or architectural related field, Computer Aided Drafting Technology program, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of drafting principles and plan set assembly is required
  • Working knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, Civil 3D, AutoCad, Revit is required.
