We're searching for an exceptional and experienced Design Director, Streaming to join our burgeoning streaming video creative team. The ideal candidate is a highly creative thinker, collaborator, and problem-solver who will oversee the creative execution of branded marketing and interactive content that drives user engagement. The Design Director, Streaming should possess leadership experience with a strong creative vision, excellent design sensibilities, knowledge of UI/UX processes, Visual Design, and an eye for pixel-perfect detail. This individual will be a partner to internal teams, clients, and external agencies to employ modern and creative approaches, be passionate about owning our brand, ensure designs reinforce and evolve our brand aesthetic within the parameters of our creative briefs while engaging and informing our target audiences.
The Role
Under the direction of the VP, Brand Design you will be responsible for managing and directing the Visual Design that parallels all UI/UX on our Direct-to-Consumer SVOD platform, as well as all marketing creative, and building the brand vision for all SVOD, AVOD, and FAST channel creative for both DTC and our external partners. The Design Director oversees the day-to-day workflow of the streaming team in addition to bringing new and creative approaches to business initiatives, identifying new and innovative ideas for the ongoing evolution of Hallmark Movies Now, Hallmark Movies & More and International streaming platforms. The Design Director, Streaming, will also partner closely with the Digital Creative Director, Print Creative Director and others to ensure brand cohesiveness across all design mediums.
- Proven track record of success in developing, mentoring, and managing creative Visual Design teams including conducting performance reviews
- Ability to design, direct and oversee creative for DTC, OTT, SVOD/AVOD/FAST. Manage and direct a team that creates image versioning for SVOD, AVODs, MVPDs, TVE, monthly cable listings in addition to evolving creative for SVOD partner platforms, such as Apple, Roku, Amazon, and our FAST Channel platforms.

- Demonstrates an ongoing passion to stay current and ahead of latest creative trends and technical advancements.
- Team-player able to collaborate cross-functionally with Team Leaders on creative and brand development
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal, who understands the association between strategy, content, brand and audience
- Able to receive, modify or redevelop creative in response to feedback from Team Leaders, SVP and VP of Brand Design
- Proactively seeks out information when necessary
- Able to function as a strong leader in the conception and oversight of style guides, presentation pitch decks and promotional design needed to support businesses
- Participate in brief, creative brainstorms and team meetings
- Translate creative brief concepts into effective and original creative
- Strategic thinker, with strong grasp of major streaming platform aesthics, spec docs and safety zone challenges
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts or related field
- 5 - 8 years of managing a creative team, entertainment field or creative agency - with emphasis on streaming or visual design experience.
- Digitally native, with an understanding of best practices within these fields
- Able to effectively partner with key stakeholders and manage multiple projects at once
- Must be able to grasp the Hallmark Media brand creative
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while balancing high-priority, long-term projects with short-term, immediate deadlines
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint
- Advanced knowledge of current Visual Design best practices
- Must be able to share a reel, portfolio, website, or links of current work when applying

The annual salary range for this job is between $135,900 - $151,000. Salary will take into consideration several factors including location.
