Work schedule is Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pm.

The purpose of this Recruiting Administrative Assistant role is to support Halvor Lines recruiting efforts in qualifying CDL drivers by performing background investigations and assist in driver onboarding process by arrange travel for qualified drivers to attend orientation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities of Recruiting Administrative Assistant:
· Receive & review driver applications. Recruiting Administrative Assistant will make determination if the applicant qualifies for Halvor driver or trainee by completing the following:
· Order CDLIS, Pre Employment History, MVR, Criminal History, & PSP Report.
· Review all consumer reports to determine if the applicant meets the hiring guidelines.
· Verify last 3 years of employment and accident history.
· Timely process of applications from start to finish and to begin processing application on same work day received.
· Alert Recruiters to any red flags on applications that need attention.
· Keep Tenstreet updated with accurate application information.
· Ensure all information for candidate is accurate on all initial documentation per DOT guidelines and Halvor policy.
· Coordinate drug tests and agility testing
· Make hotel or travel arrangements, notify appropriate staff
· Assist in problem solving travel issues. Be proactive to resolve issues.
· Assist in developing procedures for the Recruiting Department
· Provide information and answer questions as needed for recruiters throughout the recruitment and qualification of experienced and student drivers.
· In coordination with the recruiter, evaluate and determine if a driver/contractor candidate meets Halvor Lines, Inc. qualification standards
· In coordination with the Driver Orientation Coordinator and the recruiter, review driver applications, determine if the applicant qualifies for Halvor Lines. Inc. as a driver or student trainee.
· Ensure completion of all hired applications with 30 days of hire.
· In coordination with the Driver Orientation Coordinator, ensure the completion of new driver orientation paperwork:
o Review Permit/CDL images
o Review Med Card image
o Confirm certificate of violation is accurate
o Confirm reports are up to date.
o Review application for accuracy and sent/receive Confirmation IA
o Coordinate other items as necessary
· Listen to driver concerns and relay those concerns to management personnel.
· Ability to achieve goals set forth by management.
· Attends work consistently and punctually. Requests time off per policy.
· Complete other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Education &/or Experience:
· High School diploma or equivalent (GED), Bachelor’s degree preferred.
·Two years of experience with hiring and application compliance, preferably within the transportation industry.
· Prior experience with Tenstreet a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
· Knowledge of the hiring requirements set forth by the Federal DOT and Halvor Lines’ standards, the ability to shift from one duty to another as needed, and organizational skills are a must.
· Strong knowledge and understanding of FMCSA Regulations and other transportation principles and operations.
· Effective communication skills to disseminate information in a clear, concise, actionable manner.
· Must be proficient with computers and relevant software applications.
