Position Summary
The Library/Media Specialist is responsible for the growth and development of Springer students in the area of library materials and maker space. The Library/Media Specialist is responsible for planning, executing, and differentiating instruction for students that support student learning in the classroom. The role includes collaboration with teachers, instructional assistants, the reading specialist, and the leadership team to manage the materials, events, and resources in the library.
Job Goals
1. Design, implement and assess high-quality differentiated instruction for library services such as checking out books on independent reading levels, assisting students in finding books, and designing lessons related to library resources.
2. Design and implement Makerspace lessons that emphasize collaboration, problem-solving skills, and creativity.
3. Organize, manage, order and maintain the library, bookroom, and maker space materials.
4. Ensure the library learning environment is organized, supportive, and accessible for professional learning
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree.
- 3 years teaching students diagnosed with learning disabilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in school library operations or maker space instruction.
- Experience incorporating educational technology in a classroom setting.

Full-time, 10 months per year (school year)
