Supports day-to-day operations in the Human Resources department related to the implementation, execution, and maintenance of core HR initiatives and benefits administration. Supports HR Partner(s) with team member assistance, program execution, and team member events.
This position is located in Manhattan, KS.
Responsibilities:
Benefits
- Administers all team member benefits and programs to include, but not limited to; health, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life, 401k and supplemental insurance.
- Ensures new team members are enrolled in benefit plans on a timely basis; follows up as needed.
- Administers benefit new hire enrollment, coverage changes and terminations.
- Oversees the annual benefit enrollment period and team member communication .
- Coordinates benefit education programs to newly eligible team members and to all team members when benefit changes occur.
- Administers and complies with laws regarding Family Medical Leave which includes tracking leave taken in all systems, paying out disability, and notifying all team members of their rights and makes recommendations regarding policies of such leave, and communicates status to all necessary parties.
- Ensures benefit deductions are accurate in payroll and (if required) proper information is provided to carriers.
- Prepares, prints, and creates monthly and ad hoc reports for HR Executive and Finance Department.
- Maintains team member files, documentation, tax information, medical, and HIPPA files.
- Coordinates and administers other team member benefit programs such as the Team Member Emergency Assistance Fund, personal leaves of absence, and gym memberships.
- Communicates with Third Party Administrators on an as needed basis, acts as liaison for the Champion Teamwear on site health clinic.
- Stays current and knowledgeable concerning benefit laws and regulations.
General Human Resources
- Owns company communication such as newsletter, HRIS announcements, and facility electronic bulletin boards, work with HR leadership on messaging priorities.
- Maintains data integrity in the HanesBrands Inc. HRIM system
- Answers telephones and directs the caller to the appropriate team member, or voicemail.
- Provides assistance to team member questions through the HR inbox.
- Maintains HRIS to ensure team member information changes and terminations can be processed by carriers and have appropriate coverage for change in status.
- Maintains company calendars and assists the leadership with needs for meetings and events.
- Coordinates and assists with recruiting and team member events.
- Assists with special projects for different departments as needed and all other duties as assigned.
- Assists the HR department with data entry and administration tasks as assigned.
- Assists with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, collating as needed
- Works as part of the Human Resources team to accomplish company and team goals and objectives.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred, or equivalent amount of experience in the HR Field at same level- Ability to effortlessly connect with others, be a persuasive seller, is fluent and professional in all communications.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for benefits and HR laws and regulations.
- Additional experience in compensation and benefits and labor relations a plus.
- Proven ability and working knowledge of HR Information Systems. Experience with the following systems is a plus: ExponentHR, SuccessFactors, Cornerstone,
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and strong organization skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations, to conduct daily duties in a professional manner.
- Ability to work autonomously, or with a team, on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Must have strong independent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and adapt to fast paced environment, while maintaining accuracy with data and information, must be detail oriented.
