Overview:

- This position is responsible for daily planning and follow-up required to deliver excellent operational results, meeting customer compliance and service level agreements. Manages the complexity and motivation for exemplary performance of DC departments and implements operating protocols and policies assuring a cost-effective, safe and clean facility. Accountable to implement and/or support strategies to achieve continuous improvement. Accountable to assure safety, operations, quality, service, cost, administration and system metrics and KPI are achieved. This role will analyze, review and report all data and information in support of all KPIs and programs for order fulfillment or manufacturing. The manager will implement appropriate controls to prevent errors, accommodate changes in item inventory levels, conduct routine and atypical inventory counts and assure conformance to company policies and procedures. Typically may manage one or more of the following departments: receiving, shipping, warehousing, IC, order fulfillment (picking), customer value added services and/or traffic.
- Production Planning and Budgeting: Develop capacity plans and Distribution Master Schedules to insure available casing and shipping capacity at the DC to meet customer needs. Plan and implement casing and shipping schedules to insure on-time delivery of product to customers. Manage in-transit inventory including expediting movement of inbound product from sew plants and contractors to the DC, and insure that expedite product flows through DC from receiving to shipping in a minimal amount of time. Communicate information on expedite customer shipments to all appropriate parties including Materials Manager, Customer Service, Production Planning, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Sales. Identify and implement Logistical process flow improvement for product moving from sewing all the way through the customer’s DC. Work directly with customer’s Distribution and Transportation Departments to resolve problems in logistical flow of product from SLCC’s DC to our Customer’s DC’s. Responsible for planning and executing the annual physical inventory within the DC.
Leadership and Development: Provide leadership and oversight to department/facility management teams to ensure highest level of employee performance and morale while driving continuous improvement and managing change. Promote an environment of leaning and continuous growth by implementing, assessing, re-engineering and/or improving programs, systems and processes. Coordinates workflow through the department in support of, and in cooperation with other departments throughout the work flow stream.
Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvement through Lean concepts and problem solving techniques. Organize and develop department staff at all levels to set the standard of continuous improvement at the individual, departmental, facility and organizational levels. Assures ongoing familiarity with and integration of Lean and Continuous Improvement techniques.
Interaction with Stakeholders and Resources Outside of Production: Interact with transportation, IT, marketing, forecasting, production planning, customer service, quality, finance, facilities management and senior leadership to ensure compliance to internal and external standards and requirements while meeting and/or exceeding facility performance goals and budgetary plans. Develop relationships with customers to identify and resolve issues before they occur.
- BA/BS preferred in related field
- Minimum 4 years expereince in a role with similar scope supervising or man- aging a department(s), shift and/or team’s workflow, KPIs, safety and/or staffing. 6 yrs similar scope experience can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree.
