What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gun counter / pawnbroker position at Haney's Pawn Shop?
Haney's Pawn Shop in D'Iberville is looking to hire a full time employee to help the firearm counter with sales and learn the pawnbroker trade. We're looking for someone who has knowledge in firearms, a hard worker, reliable, trustworthy, honest, ambitious, and a good attitude to become a long term employee. Helping customers is the main priority for all employees. We are looking for someone with firearm knowledge and the ability to clean firearms, install accessories, mount and boresight scopes.
It is expected of all employees to become knowledgeable of all aspects of the business in order to fill in wherever help is needed.
The employee must have computer skills in order to operate the pawn program and perform nics gun checks on the computer. The employee must legally be able to sell and handle firearms.
We are looking for someone who is willing and physically capable of lifting and helping move heavy objects. Part of the job duties will require you to be able to carry heavy merchandise TVs, miter saws, tool bags, etc. of course ask for help when needed.
It is all employees responsibility to help keep the store clean and tidy.
Must be willing to clean inventory that is being put out for sale.
The Pawnbroker must be willing to file and check paperwork.
The employee must be able to stand and perform job duties for an 8 hour day.
Most job duties will take place inside, but employee must be willing to help outside for short periods of time.
The employees off days will be every Tuesday and Sunday. Our hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Saturdays 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. We are closed on Sunday.
Each employee gets a one hour lunch break and must be flexible on timing of lunch break every day.
You will be allowed 12 paid days off each calendar year. We are closed most major holidays. Each week you are paid on Friday. Advancement and raises are available.
End of month commission is not included in base start pay, but will become available. There will also be a Christmas bonus each year.
