Job Duties/Scope Of Work
JOB SUMMARY:
Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) is looking for certified software quality assurance engineers that have the knowledge and proven experience required to generate, review, and approve quality software documentation that conforms to guiding regulations and contract requirements including Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1), DOE Order 414.1, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE), and 10 CFR 830 Quality Assurance.
This position is responsible for performing the following job duties and responsibilities under limited/minimal supervision:
- Coordinate and communicate with the HMIS Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Program Manager to ensure that SQA aligns with the HMIS Quality Assurance (QA) program.
- Perform quality reviews of software documentation, including procurement documentation.
- Maintain and enhance SQA training material as necessary and requested.
- Maintain and implement HMIS SQA program driving procedures including providing assistance to projects to ensure their application development activities and documentation aligns with those driving SQA procedures.
- Maintain the other related SQA procedures and documentation.
- Provide assistance leading the Software Grading Review Board (SGRB).
- Maintain an on-going list of SQA activities and status.
- Maintain content and assure accuracy of SQA websites and links.
- Quarterly review of Hanford Information Systems Inventory (HISI), including, but not limited to review of all documents and identification of missing elements.
- Provide improvement recommendations to the HMIS SQA Program Manager.
- Perform SQA reviews, surveillances, assessments, and audits as necessary and requested.
- Assist Audits/Surveillances team with in-depth desk reviews.
- Aid teams with report evaluation and editing.
- Support SQA audits, surveillances, and assessments by third-party organizations.
- Issue corrections needed to HISI owners resulting from quarterly reviews.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in business or technical field (information systems, business administration, computer science) - OR - a combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year software quality assurance experience.
- Knowledge of Department of Energy (DOE) or equivalent government agency Software Quality Assurance requirements.
- Possess a current American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) certification or ability to get it within first 6 months of employment.
- Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
- Strong customer relationship skills.
- Ability to work during non-standard business hours.
- Experience writing and reviewing software documentation with keen attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
* Experience developing, publishing, and implementing test plans.
- Knowledge and understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
Compensation & Benefits
Grade 14: $71,200 - $89,800
Grade 15: $78,338 - $98,813
Grade 16: $86,138 - $108,513
