The Knight Insurance Group is seeking a Corporate Paralegal to work with our Legal and Compliance teams supporting Property & Casualty Insurance and Reinsurance business operations. The Corporate Paralegal will facilitate day-to-day legal, compliance, and corporate governance obligations.
Pay Range: $70,000- $90,000 Per Year. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
Job Description
What you'll do as a Corporate Paralegal:
- Assist with and support corporate governance activities and taking the minutes to document committee and board meetings.
- Assist with regulatory audits, due diligence reviews, disputes/litigation matters, and regulatory inquiries and examinations.
- Maintain corporate governance calendar and corporate data to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Develop and maintain current corporate policies, procedures, and processes.
- Research laws and regulations applicable to insurance carrier and Holding Company Filing requirements.
- Compile information from internal and external sources to develop matrices and track legal and compliance matters.
- Work with other members of compliance and legal teams on special projects and initiatives.
- Draft correspondence, memoranda, and reports.
- Interact with internal business units and outside legal counsel.
- Provide administrative and contract support.
Experience and Qualifications
What we look for in our Corporate Paralegal:
- Two to five (2-5) years of experience within the legal department of a Property & Casualty Insurance Company, Law Firm having insurance entity clients, Departments of Insurance, MGA, or General Agency.
- Must have a Paralegal Certificate.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Westlaw, and ODEN.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent time management, analytical, and research skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Highly detailed, organized, and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and providing corporate governance, legal and regulatory compliance support with accuracy on a consistent basis.
