Warehouse Manager
SUMMARY
Directs warehouse and truck driver activities for the Company by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Job duties may vary based on business needs but may result in generating, handling, and/or inspection of hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage. This can include responding or managing hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the sites emergency action or contingency plan. These duties include preparing and managing hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports
Implements operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
Routes drivers and schedules workers as appropriate.
Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
Responsible for truck and trailer maintenance.
Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
Responsible for placard information and placement.
Participates in planning and execution of personnel safety and plant protection activities.
Calls on customers to assist in deliveries or help with problems.
Insures proper maintenance schedules on the following: fire sprinklers and extinguishers, all mechanical equipment needed in running the facility including drumming unit, compressors, HVAC systems, forklifts, pallet jacks, scales, etc.
Suggest and manage capital improvement projects in conjunction with the DM.
Maintains a high level of housekeeping throughout the facility.
Manages the tote fleet for the facility.
Insures accurate recording of container returns including drums, carboys and returns.
Maintains all bulk tanks, piping and other equipment to insure continuous and safe operations.
Oversees the safety and security aspects of the facility.
Insures all shipments are properly secured per DOT requirements prior to leaving the facility.
Insures all customer requirements are met for deliveries including stenciling of customer codes on packages, COA's, MSDS, etc.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 1-5 employees in the warehouse and 1-3 truck drivers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; one year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
May need commercial drivers license (all classes).
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to drive forklift truck.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and may be frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and maybe occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
