Job Summary

The Recruiting HR Manager is responsible for providing support and guidance to crew members and managers as needed on a daily basis.  Primarily, the Recuring HR Manager serves as the primary contact and resource for all Recruiting and Talent Acquisition needs of the organization. The Recruiting HR Manager will support the HR team on Training, Workers Compensation/Safety, LOA, Benefits, Employee Relations and HR Processes as needed. This role will recommend and implement procedural and process changes based on best practices and/or business trends.  In addition, this position assists the Director of Human Resources in assessing organizational needs, developing aligned human resource solutions and implementing strategies in the Talent Acquisition area. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities; for OEM associates overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • A minimum of 3 years of Human Resource experience, and one year or more of experience as a Human Resources Manager is preferred (4-star hotel, or life-style brand hotel experience is a plus.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility required.
  • College course work in related field helpful
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of employment laws are helpful.
  • Must be proficient in Windows operating systems
  • Familiar with Human Resources/employee regulations and laws and ensure that the property is in compliance.
  • Experience with high volume recruiting preferred. 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Recruiting and Employee Lifecycle Management – 60%

  • Maintains the Applicant Tracking System, ICIMS, to ensure postings are up to date and receiving applicants. Sends out timely declination responses to those applicants that are not considered.
  • Opens requisitions in a timely manner for all roles.
  • Ensures Job Descriptions are accurate and signed by all associates during onboarding.
  • Creates and posts social media content to advertise open positions (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Indeed, Craigslist, Hospitality Online, etc.).
  • Coordinates with department managers to anticipate and coordinate seasonal and event recruiting needs, coordinates and participates in hiring fairs and off site job fairs as needed.
  • Assists with screening resumes for hiring managers and conducting phone screenings and first interviews for all line staff positions.
  • Works with managers and Director of Human Resources to target/determine qualified internal candidates for promotion.
  • Coaches’ managers on recruitment and employment policies and procedures.
  • Creates and performs turnover analysis in order to make recommendations to departments based on identified trends.
  • Coordinates the termination process including requesting final checks, scheduling exit interviews, and coordinating with managers to meet with employee.

 

Onboarding – 25%

  • Ensures proper onboarding forms and I9 are completed on new hires first day of work.
  • Orders name badge and request proper account provisions.
  • Assists new hires with Benefits Enrollment during their first 31 days of hire.
  • Creates new hire associate files and enters necessary data into the HRIS system.
  • Coordinates and facilitates New Hire Induction, service delivery and other training courses as needed to generate a positive first impression for associates and emphasize the importance of guest service in our culture
  • Tracks certifications and trainings as appropriate (i.e., food handler training, TIPS, safety, new hire trainings)
  • Manages training for leaders and crew members, including communication and tracking to ensure that all associates are receiving and completing necessary training
  • Provides necessary education and materials to managers and associates including workshops, crew member handbooks and standardized reports.
  • Training managers about recruiting tools, culture fit, and interview questions.
  • Evaluates needs of company and plans and facilitates training programs accordingly.

 

Employee Relations and Culture – 10%

  • Supports the HR team with routine associate inquiries, both in person and on the phone.
  • Collaborates and provides guidance and assistance to associates.
  • Serves as a resource for performance issues and coaching documentation; escalates issues to Director of Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Communicates with employees to keep them informed on Human Resources, hotel, and corporate procedures, policies, programs and guidelines. Responds to questions, requests, and concerns from employees and management regarding these procedures, policies, programs and guidelines.
  • Assists HR team to resolve crew member issues by advising management regarding employment law and compliance, coordinating and conducting investigations, recommending the appropriate next steps and/or corrective action, and initiating appropriate steps for resolution, consulting with Director of Human Resources when appropriate.
  • Recommends crew member relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-crew member relationship and promote a high level of crew member morale and motivation.
  • Collaborates with property managers on associate engagement activities (i.e., recognition program, celebrations, AOS process, etc.).
  • Assists in the development of, coordinates, and implements various crew member relations programs and events.
  • Promotes a work environment where associates are given the opportunity to contribute to their full potential.
  • Assists with ensuring that internal communication is in alignment with Evo’s culture.
  • Models behavior which supports culture and guiding principles.
  • Participates and provides guidance on associate committees such as Love All, Serve All and Culture Club to ensure culture is alive and supported.

 

HR Administration – 5%

  • Assists with the department’s budget and ensures fiscal responsibility
  • Maintain filing systems.
  • Ensures that associate files are set up and maintained in accordance with company standard and government regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of employee and property records, files, and information
  • Performs general administrative tasks for the HR office (i.e., ordering supplies, processing invoices, mail).
  • Evaluates work procedures, reviews standards, identifies methods for increasing efficiency or effectiveness, and responds proactively to any needs that may arise.
  • Develops, prepares, generates and analyzes ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data.
  • Maintains and expands knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management.
  • Assists Director of Human Resources with specialize projects, including research, data compilation, recommendations for action, etc.
  • Creates communication for the staff about hotel updates, activities and news.
  • Conducts Human Resources internal audits to ensure compliance.
  • Ensures that federal, state and local laws and requirements are posted.
