About the Role

As a Smart Cities and Transportation Infrastructure product manager, you will define and execute highly differentiated products and services from concept to launch by acting as a glue between the business and technology functions within the organization. Best products come to life in a collaborative environment. Therefore, you will work in a fast-paced work environment with business units, innovation and technology teams, supply chain, finance, sales, legal, marketing, UI/UX designers, etc. to bring your product vision to reality.

While this is an individual contributor position, you will be expected to lead with influence and work with cross-functional team members drawn from all relevant functions within the business. This team will be empowered and aligned around company objectives.
What You Will Do
Conduct market intelligence and assess competitive positioning by comparing HARMAN’s portfolio to competitors' products and ecosystems.
Conduct global and regional market and technology assessments to frame problem statements, define market requirements, and determine opportunities for investments
Design and deploy global GTM efforts across the end-to-end customer journey.
Key platform/product lifecycle artifact management: MRD, PRD, Concept Approval, Business Case
Drive products from concept to launch by acting as a bridge between technical feasibility, customer desirability, and business viability. Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, legal, and UX on product execution. Own definition and execution of feature enhancements to existing product roadmaps.
Develop market and product requirements with a rolling 3-5-year iterative product and feature roadmap
Support the definition of product positioning- features and roadmap/main releases, support business plans including pricing, revenue, and status dashboard, support the partnership with Product Marketing on value proposition, product positioning, and sales enablement
Support RFQ/RFI teams to drive product pursuit pipelines
Drive the GTM to include thought leadership and events engagement for infrastructure products
Engage with the Govt Affairs team to identify and build new business opportunities for HARMAN for connectivity BU
What You Need
Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience defining building, and shipping technical products
Well-versed in product management tools and frameworks, HW/SW/Platform/Solution development processes, and understanding of UI/UX considerations
Experience creating compelling and differentiated product propositions based on market needs, customer segments, and technical feasibility, aligned to an overarching product strategy
Experience in all aspects of the product lifecycle, ensuring the program milestones happen on time, technologies launch successfully, and product evolution strategies are in place to maximize ROI.
Excellent communication, able to turn complex ideas into universally understandable narratives, product evangelist
Critical thinking, analytical, and prioritization skills
What is Nice to Have
MBA with a Master's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
Experience in Smart City and Intelligent Transportation domains and relevant experience in products like RSU, V2X, 5G MEC, etc.
Experience in creating business plans, GTM strategy, and sales enablement
Experience in working with broader Smart City Ecosystem and engagement with different personas such as OEM/ODM, ISVs, MNOs, SIs
Experience working in a matrix, global org with multiple functions such as R&D, UX/UI, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Legal, Supply chain, etc.
B2B and B2C/B2B2C launch experience
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to work in the Vernon Hills, IL office
Be willing to travel up to 25%, domestic and international travel with occasional trips into the Mountain View and Novi office location required (this could be on 24-hour notice)
