About the Role

We are currently seeking a Sr Machine Learning (ML) Engineer, with experience and knowledge in machine learning / AI, vehicle and/or cyber security for our data science team. This position requires professional knowledge and/or experience in the machine learning life cycle (feature engineering to deployment to improvement), supporting cyber security, intrusion, and anomaly detection to enable the security posture of connected vehicles. This role is responsible for getting security findings of ML models from various data sources, multiple tools, and sources and is integrating and using large and various datasets from databases and data lakes (AWS, DataBricks, etc.) by using all available tools and software for vehicles and the cloud.

What You Will Do

  • Build ML / AI models or algorithms/scripts based on various data sources (databases, data streams, Threat Intel feeds, etc.) to support our cyber security solutions.

  • Support security tasks (pen-testing, data security, etc.) for Vehicle ECUs and connectivity devices, and network applications (connected vehicles, ECUs, WiFi, OTA, etc.).

  • Provide analytical insights, recommendations, and decision-making actions to senior management and data science/engineering teams.

  • Work with data engineers/scientists to implement and improve ML models, involved in implementing and designing feedback for model improvement.

  • Collaborate with various Harman teams to improve the security of connected vehicles

  • Build and test ML models or algorithms/scripts for firmware engineers to use and modify scripts or software agents on TCUs or ECUs, to enable anomaly detection and cyber security from ECUs and vehicles.

  • Contact R&D and POCs for embedded deep learning, transfer learning, LLM, reinforcement learning ML models/scripts running on Linux without GPUs or Android with limited computing capabilities.

  • Develop applicable unsupervised, semi-supervised ML models and improve these models, by collecting feedback, and retraining the models, based on the model performance / KPI.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's or master's degree (preferred) in Computer Science, CE, EE, Cybersecurity, or any equivalent degree, 3 years of experience in a senior role.

  • Minimum 3 years of overall experience working in ML / AI, supervised / unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning for cyber security or automotive security, anomaly detection, IDPS, or others.

  • 5 years of experience with SageMaker, Databricks ML labs, Spark ML, or ML Studio, SKlearn, Numpy, SciPy, Pandas, etc.

  • 5 years of working experience with software tools PySpark, Python (Jupyter, Colab, PyCharm, etc.), SQL, scripting, AWS (Athena, EC2, S3, other tools), SIEM Tools, Linux, Android or Embedded Systems (ECUs, etc.)

  • 3 years of professional experience with ML model training, testing, deployment, and improvement for cyber security or anomaly detection in a production environment.

  • Create impactful demonstrations to showcase ML / AI, algorithms for cyber / cloud / data security, big data analytics capabilities.

  • Contribute to cross-functional technical discussions and drive the adoption of best practices, and latest technologies.

  • Contribute to strategy, task execution, and documentation of knowledge discovered, customers, and project stories.

What is Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of vulnerability assessment, ML tool evaluation or SOC / VSOC.

  • Providing domain-specific ML algorithms for cyber security tasks such as reverse engineering (forensic, etc.), malware analysis (Sandbox, etc.), and threat prevention.

  • Experience in cyber security testing in the automotive industry or SOC analysts.

  • Experience in incident detection, investigation, and respond to incidents for Vehicle SOC
