Description: We are currently looking for a Retail Yard Manager responsible for one of two Alabama locations. This is an excellent opportunity to drive overall operations for a feeder location with responsibility for up to 10 teammates. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead people by example and have excellent communication skills while posing positive energy at problem-solving and driving financial results. This position requires willingness to adjust to a steadily evolving environment while having the ability to make decisions with out supervision of upper management.

Ability to read, interpret, explain and consistently apply complex regulations and polices related to; Safety compliance, Environmental compliance, Scrap purchasing requirements, Employee relations, Best practices.
Ability to select, lead and develop people of different backgrounds to execute the companyʼs objectives.
Proactively improve facility efficiency and effectiveness by driving improvement in operations and equipment reliability.
Ability to project the impact of decisions on the financial results of an operation.
Clear and thorough written and verbal communication of issues and opportunities.
Ability to represent the organization in local community and political matters.
Ability to work across boundaries with other departments and management daily.
Keen awareness of scrap market dynamics and the ability to manage people, inventories and production operations through volatile changes in scrap pricing and volumes.
Ability to extract, collate and communicate significant market data to General Manager.
Consistently achieves results listed above while exhibiting workplace behaviors in line with company values and core competency expectations.
Requirements:
Candidate must reside within close proximity of the respective yard.
Minimum of 2 yearsʼ experience in management/leadership required; 5 yearʼs of experience in the scrap metal industry with demonstrated leadership ability and understanding of business management concepts required.
Effective communication skills with people at all levels within the organization.
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required and the ability to learn in house systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual Spanish speaking, is preferred not required
Experience interfacing with customers and providing excellent customer service.
Knowledge in inventory management
Knowledgeable of OSHA, EPA, local, state and federal laws and regulations with adherence
Problem Solving/ Conflict Resolution Skills with the understanding of the importance of fostering a TEAM
*Ability to operate heavy equipment & Mechanical knowledge a plus

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
