Position Summary

Are you a product marketer looking to make a huge impact at a hyper-growth company? Do you see how DevSecOps is redefining the way the world’s largest enterprises think about their software delivery in today's cloud-native world?

Harness is seeking a Director, Solutions Marketing to lead our company-wide GTM strategy and execution for the DevSecOps solutions area. This role will be a key part of our Product Marketing team and will be defining our strategy, messaging and core assets, including sales enablement and competitive intelligence.

The ideal candidate will have expertise with software supply chain security, particularly as it relates to code-build-deploy-release processes and the CI/CD pipelines powering these processes. You understand the benefits of shift-left vulnerability management, artifact attestations & build infrastructure hardening (using standards like SLSA) as well as open source dependency risk management (using standards like SBOM & VEX). You would be deeply familiar with the needs of the Security & Compliance organizations especially those in regulated industries and how such orgs can collaborate effectively with Dev & DevOps teams. Armed with this knowledge, you will create assets that resonate and activities that result in pipeline and sales.

About the role

This role will have the opportunity to own a greenfield area for the company, and make a highly visible impact. It sits at the intersection of three key functions namely, sales, marketing and product with revenue growth as the northstar metric.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Create & orchestrate the communication of core value propositions to the global Harness sales team through tools and training that support the selling process. Deliver content related to value propositions, competitive differentiators, and product-focused sales materials.
  • Use your proven experience, technical expertise, and understanding of our target personas to create specific marketing content such as product videos, website copy, blog posts, white papers that help prospect & customers learn about, select, and be advocates for our products. Enable demand generation, AR/PR and event marketing teams to beat their marketing-activated pipeline targets through such content.
  • Together with the product team, drive product launches as well as educate both internal and external stakeholders on our product features and their benefits
  • Develop deep knowledge of buyer personas in different company sizes and industries
  • Conduct market analysis to obtain understanding of the competitive landscape and help establish product differentiators
  • Establish individual and team metrics and report on success
  • Effectively communicate internally relevant insights and key takeaways of industry news, events, analyst reports and social media activity

  • Excellent understanding of application security scanners (SAST/SCA/Container & DAST), software supply chain security and DevSecOps principles
  • 5 years of experience in product marketing of application or infrastructure security products
  • 10 years of experience with SaaS / Cloud companies

$166,000 - $226,000 a year
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $166,000 - $226,000 annually. Salary is determined by a combination of factors including location, level, relevant experience, and skills. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
