Position Overview:
Under minimal direction, provides cybersecurity endpoint security engineering services to help ensure protection of Harris County information and information systems. Manages and maintains multiple endpoint solutions including, but not limited to, patching, security clients, MobileIron, JAMF, and Microsoft Configuration Manager. Provides support to end-users for desktop, server or mobile device applications and hardware. Creates and manages GPOs, configuration baselines, and configuration items in support of best security practices. Acts as an escalation point for members of the Service Desk and Desktop Support Teams. Provides on-site training and mentoring when required. Collaborates with vendors and other IT groups to resolve issues and documents solutions. Creates reports and end-user guides. Designs, configures, tests, deploys, and maintains operating systems, application software, scripts, and system management tools. Performs root cause analysis of complex issues.

Supports the development of cybersecurity procedures, metrics/measures packages, project plans, and communications as needed to support the overall delivery of cybersecurity objectives.
Participates on Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT) investigation and response activities as required.
Works on multiple projects as subject matter expert, including projects or issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.
May also participate in the evaluation and implementation of other new security solutions and technologies.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Five (5) years work experience in infrastructure/desktop environments performing endpoint engineering (hardware and/or software), design, planning and implementation.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
Proficiency with two or more of the following is required: Microsoft Configuration Manager aka SCCM (or equivalent), OS and application patching, scripting, application packaging and deployment, Azure Intune management and/or OS Imaging.
Applicant should have advanced experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android based environments.
Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships are essential.

Certification:
CompTIA Security Certification or other relevant industry certifications is preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience managing Configuration Manager or equivalent tool
Experience in infrastructure/desktop environments performing endpoint engineering (hardware and/or software), design, planning and implementation.
Experience participating in Cybersecurity Incident response
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
Familiarity with virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Virtual Box, Parallels) is preferred.
A broad understanding of cybersecurity concepts across all domains, applicable security models (e.g. NIST and CIS Critical Security Controls, ISO 2700X) and regulations (e.g. CJIS, PCI, HIPAA and Privacy)
Ability to confront challenges in a constructive fashion and influence others through consensus building techniques
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday | 40hrs
Regular Full-time | Onsite Position
Hybrid Schedule
May be required to work more than forty hours during the workweek and/or weekends and 24 on-call infrequently, as needed
Subject to performing other duties as assigned
Must live or plan to live in the Houston Texas metropolitan area.
