JOB SUMMARY:
The Office Manager oversees the day-to-day management of the office and is experienced in handling a wide range of administrative duties and support tasks to ensure the office runs smoothly and company values are upheld. Responsibilities include overseeing general accounting (AR/AP), data entry for reporting, some scheduling, administrative support tasks, and HR-related duties: recruiting, hiring, benefits administration, timekeeping, compensation, and information systems.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
- Development of a smooth-running, efficient office and a superior workforce.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable duties.
- Oversee policies and procedures such as employee handbook, written safety plans, etc.
- Process daily mail and correspondence.
- Create and distribute company communications to employees when needed.
- Recruit, interview, and hire staff when needed. Conduct orientation and onboarding tasks.
- Maintain company files (A/R, A/P, and employee files).
- Maintain time clock and time clock records; collect, calculate and enter data for payroll.
- Administer compensation and benefit plans.
- Track quarterly and annual employee reviews and ensure timely completion by managers.
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations.
- Promote positive employee relations; coach, mentor, and provide support to employees.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training events (some of which will require you to train others on what you’ve learned.)
- Participate on the safety committee and assist in OSHA and first report of injury reporting.
- Gather and analyze data with useful metrics such as employee turnover rates, employee satisfaction rates, annual Q 12 surveys, and stay review and exit interview data.
- Assist Production and Sales Departments with pricing configurators and data entry.
- Fill in and/or help out in the office as needed when others are on PTO/vacations.
- Other administrative tasks as needed or assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires attendance on the premises and cannot be performed from home. The following requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required of the Office Manager.
Required Education and Experience
- AAS degree or Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in HR and/or bookkeeping
- Proven experience in office management and/or in human resource management
- SHRM certification is a plus but not required

- Be outgoing and personable and genuinely like people.
- Have excellent time management skills, and can prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to count time; calculate ratios, rates, and percentages; use both metric and English systems of measure; read/write measurement in both decimals and fractions (i.e. 1 5/8 or 1.625); count money and complete basic money computations.

- Possess excellent organizational skills to manage many pieces of information at one time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must work all hours at the office. Working from home does not work for this position.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, so must be able to use hands and fingers to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times (i.e., move boxes of copy paper, etc.)
BEGINNING SALARY RANGES: $47,000 and up - varies depending upon experience/training
