Position Description
Harvard Medical School's Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) is looking for a motivated front-end engineer to join our growing platforms, development team. You will help build open-source software platforms used by clinicians and researchers around the world to discover, diagnose, and treat genetic diseases; research genomics and nucleomics; and advance human health as a whole.
The software we work on includes the Clinical Genome Analysis Platform (https://cgap.hms.harvard.edu), the 4D Nucleome Data Portal (https://data.4dnucleome.org), as well as auxiliary and integrated tools such as HiGlass, Foursight, and others used for monitoring and visualizing the progress and output of genomic analysis pipelines. Our platforms are primarily built with Python and JS (React), and run inside Docker images.
Our working environment combines the best features of a startup (fast pace of innovation, flexibility, flat hierarchies) with those of a leading academic institution (excellent benefits, outstanding opportunities for learning, great resources, brand recognition). We are a multidisciplinary team consisting of software designers and engineers, bioinformaticians, and clinical geneticists.
