Elgin Security Guard- (Part-Time, Evenings)
Elgin Security Guards are an essential ministry function of Harvest Bible Chapel (“HBC”) which is necessary for the fulfillment of the Great Commission and the church’s religious, charitable and educational purpose a set forth in the HBC Bylaws. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Operations and is responsible for monitoring all persons entering the HBC Elgin Campus building /garage during business hours of operation Monday through Friday (1000 N. Randall Road).
- Evening Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Wednesday 4:00 PM -10:00 PM
Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
- Security oversight of Main Office / Garage Entrance – welcoming Staff, and warmly monitoring
all visitors entering the building /garage.
- Interact with public at large to question/filter/assess following procedures to ensure work safety
and security
- Monitor security cameras throughout shift, responding in a timely manner to authorized search inquires
- Receive & track package shipments /deliveries from the fishbowl location
- Coordinate dock deliveries with Operations & Ministry personnel
- Receive incoming USPS mail for Harvest staff pick-up.
- Fire Alarm Panel monitoring
Ministry Duties /Expectations:
- Personal and growing relationship with Jesus
- HBC Member with ability to explain “What Harvest Bible Chapel Believes”
- Ability to pray with other employee’s, guest and members of the church
Educational Requirements:
- High School Education /must be 18 years of age or older
Work Experience Requirements:
- Previous law enforcement or security experience is preferred but not necessary.
Other Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have natural common sense and calm nature in an emergency, with the ability to de-escalate public interactions as needed
- Must be able to demonstrate people skills
- Basic computer skills necessary to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word
- Critical thinking /observation skills to address inconsistencies across security cameras and building grounds.
