About the Role
We are looking for experienced servers to join our FOH team at HaSalon NYC. The job requires serving and bussing tables in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. We serve a large and diverse dinner menu that changes with the seasons, as well as offering a full service bar. Servers and runners at HaSalon are performers, and we have a unique approach to service that requires a lot of grace and skill. You must have a strong appreciation for our brand and ethos, as well as the ability to multitask and perform under pressure. We support a culture of promoting from within and are seeking the right candidate who also shares our values and wants to join our team long-term.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests, take orders, provide food & beverage service, and monitor each guests’ dining experience
- Embody and emanate the energy of each day’s unique menu and dining room
- Effectively utilize the Toast POS system to take and adjust orders, pace food and process payments
- Interact with the dining room guests, fellow employees, and supervisors in a professional manner
- Present menus, answer questions and make suggestions for all food and beverage items
- Provide guests with information regarding our venues and brand
- Record and report any guest allergy or dietary restriction to the kitchen staff
- Communicate respectfully and clearly with service team and management
- Engage management for any guest issue or complaint
- Properly set-up the floor and abide by company opening/closing procedures
- Maintain and clean assigned stations and the entire venue throughout service
- Complete all end-of-shift financial procedures in accordance with company guidelines
- Participate in trainings and pre-shift meetings regarding our menu and wine list
- Assist teammates to anticipate all other FOH needs
- Additional service and/or operational tasks as determined by manager
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant serving experience in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment
- Excellent communication and hospitality skills
- Desire and dedication to learn and offer a phenomenal service
- Warm personality and a natural ability to interact with people and create an upbeat, fun atmosphere
- Must be professional, enthusiastic and receptive to performance feedback
- Must be excited about our food, brand and story
- Must be quick on your feet, someone who is able to multitask and solve problems while maintaining a level of composure
- Experience with Resy and Toast preferred
- Bartending and Kitchen experience is a plus
About HaSalon NYC
HaSalon comes to New York from Chef Eyal Shani (@eyaltomato), a renowned Israeli chef with 40 restaurants and counting worldwide. The group's signature restaurant, HaSalon offers two seatings per evening. The first seating is tranquil, with a heavy focus on the beautiful food we have to offer. As the evening progresses, the dining room becomes more upbeat and loud as the party builds. Around 10:30pm, the lights dim, the DJ comes on and the party begins. Our kitchen specializes in fresh, seasonal vegetables alongside homemade pasta, homemade bread, a variety of seafood, and unique meat dishes designed to share. Our chefs work in an open kitchen, making the overall vibe of the kitchen (and having fun) integral to the vibe of the dining room and the overall dining experience. Note: this is not a traditional kitchen job.
