Lead Auto Technician

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Shop Manager, the Auto Technician maintains service operations by inspecting and maintain vehicles and helps ensure the highest level of service is provided to all customers.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.

· Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.

· Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.

· Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.

· Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.

· Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

· Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.

· Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

· Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Education and Work Experience

· Must have valid California Driver License and clean driving record

· Experience in an auto repair environment is required

· Proficient knowledge of tools and related equipment

Skill Set

· Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills

· Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines

Physical Demands and Work Environment

· Must be able to work in an environment with varying noise levels

· Must be able to lift up to 100lbs and have the ability to Stand, Walk, Stoop, and kneel during working hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $103,319.68 per year

• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Automotive service: 1 year (Required)
• Automotive repair: 1 year (Required)
• Brake repair: 1 year (Preferred)
• Suspension: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
