The DPD Support team assists the project functional team in set-up of the iPas(Hatchs Integrated Project Delivery Tool Set) suit of tools and supports the project based on the approved workflows in achieving the digital outcomes expected by Hatch and the project.
They are responsible for the deployment and set-up of the engineering software tools and the integration of project systems ensuring project data quality and consistency.
They provide leadership and resolution on technical and configuration issues advising stakeholders of potential conflicts to assure consistency throughout the life of the project.
They are responsible for assuring alignment; among project stakeholders, of the project data, workflows, and configurations.
The DPD Support role provides functional user coaching, documentation of project configurations that differ from Hatch core systems, and overall implementation of project deployed engineering software tools.
DPD - DATA INTEGRATION TASKS
The Hatch engineering applications and tools assist the project management and functional groups in monitoring the progress of work and managing the project.
The tools deployed, configured, and integrated on projects provide the essential data that drives Hatch projects and are used by the functional teams to complete projects successfully.
The data and information entered in these applications is also used by other practices and functions to perform their respective tasks such as procurement and construction planning.
It is therefore imperative that the DPD Support team encourage the use of, deploy, and maintain the Hatch systems on each project.
Key Responsibilities
Project
- Investigates and, resolves issues identified by project users, engaging additional specialists where needed.
- Uses the projects functional requirements to define technical requirements; understanding where the project will need to take the system to achieve its goals
- Analyses project functional requirements, at project commencement, to define technical configuration changes required to the system to achieve the projects goals
- Assist with setup (iPas install, project hardware and software setup setup), use of standards, customization, etc.
- Plans and conducts training of other support staff, discipline SMEs, and users
- Understands how iPas supports and improves business processes and conveys this to users
- Mentors and coaches iPas Discipline Subject Matter Experts from functional perspective
- Corrects processes performed incorrectly (business / front-end processes)
- Manages the technical issues and helps users with advanced iPas use to avoid these and with other time-saving tricks
- Collaborates with development to design and generate custom reports, by understanding the needs, priorities, alternatives necessary to support the projects objectives.
- Collects and understands requests for minor changes and major enhancements to the system, points out alternatives where possible
- Project liaison (pro-actively engages the projects to discuss iPas issues)
- Prioritizes bugs and enhancements in conjunction with other functional support personnel and Global Discipline representatives.
- Provides input into the development of a strategy for iPas enhancement in alignment with the business needs and overall PDG systems strategy
- Manages expectations and perceptions, communicates plans to users in conjunction with other functional support personnel
- Feeds back progress to the users on their requests as well as new developments
Corporate
- Supports continuous improvement in the iPas tool itself, its application on projects and in the iPas team processes
- Represents the needs and priorities of the projects during iPas functional reviews while working with other functional support personnel to foster global consistency
- Collaborates with QA team members to develop and run test scenarios and test cases.
- Performs functional acceptance testing of bug fixes, minor enhancements and major enhancements and co-ordinates user acceptance testing.
- Assists with knowledge capture and with the maintenance and update of user, marketing and training materials, manuals and tutorials
- Supports business development initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- 0-2 years of experience in Information Technology and CAD support
- Ability to work with and coach individuals to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives with the utilization of systems (Hatch iPas and mainly iPasDT tools)
- Experience working on projects in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Strong deliverable and standardization focus
- Good understanding of systems integration
- Good knowledge of SQL Server and creating SQL queries.
- Information Technology and general computer systems.
- Data integration, validation and verification Knowledge
- Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Engineering Database Administrator experience with SQL Server, MS Access
- CAD Experience : MicroStation, AutoCAD
- Programming Experience : .NET, VB, C, FORTRAN, and Visual Script for MS macros
- Knowledge of Windows & Basic Networking
- Knowledge of Databases and Data Structures
- Knowledge of BIM principles, automation and data modeling
Preferred
- A recognized degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited College or University
- CAD Experience : Bentley OpenPlant suite, Autodesk suite, Aveva suite, or Hexagon SmartPlant suite of tools.
