What We're Looking For:
We are looking for a reliable, organized, and detail oriented Medical Records Assistant. This candidate must have experience in a skilled nursing facility and possess the following experience below and be willing to learn new skills and function.
- Assist Medical Records, Direct and ensure that all health information management practices comply with state and federal policies and other applicable standards.
- Maintain and oversee accurate tracking systems to review facility documentation and ensure compliance, Keep logs current for audit tracking, admission and discharge.
- Assist with maintain minutes of meetings.
- Ensures the quality of medical records by verifying completeness, accuracy, and proper entry in computer systems and paper documentation via audits
- Develop systems and procedures to provide data for internal analysis and external reporting.
- Records release via secure transfer of patient records to other health care providers and ensure that appropriate requests and authorizations are completed.
- complete and maintain filing of paper records, in the overflow and discharge records.
- assist with scanning and uploading records to the electronic chart
- assemble and close discharge charts.
- Monitor physician compliance for visits and electronic signatures
- create new charts for admissions
- ensure files are accurate, filled out properly, organized, and secure.
- Request records from outside sources as needed
- Other duties as assigned by Medical Records Director
