Havoc Brewing Company’s flagship brewery and taproom launches April 2023 in the heart of downtown Pittsboro, NC.
Located at 39 West Street, Havoc anchors the SoCo Development on the iconic courthouse circle. Our 6,400 square foot taproom area seats approximately 250 people, with 2,500 square feet dedicated to brewing and production space. The space features large glass garage doors, large windows with sight lines into the brewery, an expansive patio, and an outdoor stage for live music and entertainment.
We’re passionate about creating a welcoming space for community building, craft beer education, and celebrating our love for finely crafted beer. Our patrons will come here for excellent beer, exceptional culture, and first-class service.
Job purpose
Our taproom is the heart and soul of Havoc Brewing Company. We have high expectations for our staff because we aim to give our guests an iconic experience in craft beer.

As a taproom server, you’re a frontline ambassador for our brand. We’ll rely on you to ensure an exceptional experience for everyone who visits Havoc Brewing Company.
Working conditions
This position requires working under a range of circumstances, including:
- a fast-paced environment
- late evenings
- shift and weekend work
- working in proximity to an operating brewery (noise, heavy equipment, odors related to the brewing process).
Duties and responsibilities
Taproom servers responsibilities include:
- Ensuring federal and state liquor laws as well as Havoc’s policies are followed.
- Greeting and providing guidance to our customers.
- Handling cash and processing transactions through our point-of-sale system.
- Keeping inventory stocked.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of taproom and glassware.
- Proper pouring technique in glasses and growlers.
- Providing excellent customer service, ensuring our customers have the best possible experience.
Qualifications:
- A love for craft beer, a working knowledge of the industry, or a strong desire to learn (Cicerone Certified Beer Server will be required after 30 days, at Havoc’s expense).
- Ability to anticipate and proactively address problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, cleanliness, and ability to work with a team.
- Basic math skills required to use our point-of-sale system and take inventory.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in a bustling environment.
- Flexible schedule including availability for working nights and weekends.
- 1-2 years’ experience in the hospitality industry (experience in serving alcohol preferred).
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be comfortable around dogs.
- RASP, TIPS or ServSafe® Alcohol Training certification required before start.
Physical Requirements
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, lift 55 lbs, and manage the transport of 165 lb kegs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

- Starting at $8.00/hr plus shared tip pool.
