What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Behavior Technician position at Hawaii Behavioral Health?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Hawaii Behavioral Health is a rapidly growing provider of mental and behavioral health services to children and adults with special needs. We are excited to share that we are seeking individuals who enjoy working with children and have an interest in special education, psychology, child development, or a related field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality service to children with autism spectrum disorder, helping them reach their full potential through ABA (applied behavior analysis) services.
Job Type: Part-time / Full-time
Location: Newport, Lexington, Louisville
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implementation of treatment plans developed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) addressing communication, behavior, feeding, and social skill needs
- Monitor the progress of clients and work closely with the BCBA to update treatment plans as necessary
- The ABA technician/RBT position is a part-time, hourly position, working in a client’s home or in the community
- After-school, weekend, in-home, and daytime hours are available
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid RBT certification (Hawaii Behavioral Health offers a certification program)
- High School Diploma minimum, Associate’s or Bachelor's degrees preferred
- Experience working with individuals with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities, and/or severe problem behavior preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred but not required
- Ability to drive to a variety of locations on the island
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, run repeatedly, and for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
