Job Overview
As a Wood CNC Machine Operator, you will:
- Operate assigned production machinery in accordance with company standards to complete customer orders.
Regular hours, M-F 4:00am to 12:30pm, w/ OT staying until 2:30pm - with the possibility of some OT on Saturdays, when needed.
Required Qualifications
- 8th grade education or higher
- The ability to work in Big Rapids, MI without relocation assistance
- The ability to lift items weighing up to 50lbs with assistance
- Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior machine operator experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Computer experience, including keyboard/mouse skills
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments, such as measuring gauges (calipers and micrometers)and tape measures
Major Responsibilities
- Accesses electronic production system to determine daily schedule.
- Verifies parts received against pick tickets for accurate counts, colors, part numbers, and packaging. Monitors material flow and updates electronic production system accordingly.
- Selects the appropriate machine settings or program according to specifications.
- Sets up and operates machine. Makes minor machine adjustments. May make simple repairs.
- Performs change-overs (adjusts tooling or tolerances, selects programs, etc.).
- Investigates & documents production nonconformance issues.
- May be required to operate a powered industrial truck and/or overhead lift system.
