Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Director, Email Operations to join the team. This position is located in our New York, NY office.
Job Overview:
We are looking for a marketing professional with experience managing a team of email specialists and web producers to oversee the company’s email management in addition to other digital operations. This person would be in-house email expert and help provide insights to the marketers as well as oversee day-to-day operations. This position will be responsible for overseeing audience-facing newsletters as well as promotional emails and developing SOPs to ensure that all business objectives are met. The right candidate have experience in fast-paced, high volume environments and have hands-on experience in ESPs.
Responsibilities:
- Build and execute strategy to optimize email quality, deliverability, and performance
- Troubleshoot issues in the ESP or CMS and help team build new processes and techniques
- Oversee the creation and optimization of all editorial and marketing emails, including trigger and nurture emails
- Participate in technology software reviews and work with vendors on key functionality. Make recommendations if software needs to be replaced, removed, or upgraded.
- Maintain dashboards and reports of email performance and provide insights for stakeholders
- Oversee hygiene of email database by maintaining lists to minimize list decay and unsubscribes
- Ensure all email campaigns comply with brand standards, compliance, and current email best practices in the industry
- Manage email production schedule, ensuring emails are delivered on time and meet quality standards
- Maintain performance history by documenting processes, A/B tests, and offers
Skills and Requirements:
- 8 years of digital operations experience with experience building and deploying email campaigns
- 5 years’ experience with an Email Service Provider, preferably Eloqua
- Experience managing marketing teams and processes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and interpret KPIs
- Innovative thinker who consistently brings new ideas to the table
- Deep knowledge of email best practices
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Energetic and friendly team player with strong attention to detail
- Bachelor Degree in Marketing or other related field
