Event Manager
Event Manager, 2-Month contract. Below is an outline of the role. However, given it is such a short contract, you will not be required to manage everything. You must have experience as an event manager.
The Events Manager role is responsible for the planning, management, and delivery of events. The organisation delivers a diverse range of corporate events inclusive of multi-day conferences, online and in-person seminars and workshops, breakfast, lunch and dinner events and award presentations which, in turn, contribute to growth in the organisation's reputation, events and sponsorship income streams.
- Responsible for the successful delivery of major events including the Annual Conference; Awards evening, Environment Awards, Destination and Visitor Economy Conference, Rural and Regional Summit and Water Management Conference.
- Manage all pre-production, post-production, and evaluation requirements for the event program and ancillary events in accordance with best practice.
- Co-ordinate the ongoing review and continual improvement of the event program.
- Align event selection, event content, logistics and sponsors with the strategic and operational plans for the org.
- Guide the Sponsorship Officer and associated sponsorship opportunities to ensure sponsor value is achieved.
- Lead conference committees and steer the program content, source, and select speakers, create program content, and facilitate stakeholder's involvement and commitments in line with the CE, President and Director Events and Learning.
- Create new concepts for social and gala conference events, including welcome functions, dinners, online forums and ensuring all events reflect best practice in relation to creative elements, risk management plans and stakeholder engagement.
- Evaluate expressions of interest to host events from member councils and conduct site inspections with local councils.
- Responsible for events budget preparation and ongoing management to achieve targets.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and innovative organisational culture, providing insight and input into business planning.
- Simultaneously manage a diverse range of events and activities with differing audience and administrative requirements, ensuring that both deadlines and budgetary outcomes are met.
- Delivering high-quality events while ensuring a high standard of customer service and adhering to budget forecasts.
- Effectively manage staff to ensure their personal growth and contribution to the success of the team.
