JOB SUMMARY:
The candidate will be responsible for welding metal pipe, tube, plate and other metal components. Follow sketches, details, and specifications. Inspect equipment and structures. Follow and maintain safety protocol for tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
- Measure and mark pipes for proper installation.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
- Test and inspect welded joints, surfaces, and structure to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety or performance.
- Assist pipefitter when necessary.
- Willing to perform tasks other than those specifically associated to welding to include but not limited to hydronic pipe installation, layout, installation of pipe stand, associated hanger assemblies and performance of test procedures related to pipe installations.
For consideration, candidates must have 5 years of experience and certification paperwork along with having an aptitude of math, keen to details and takes pride of their work.
Requirements:
- Must always put SAFTEY FIRST.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Must be able to operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks safely and with quality.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
- Must have reliable transportation and willing to go to jobsites in the areas we work.
- Must be able to work inside and outside.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to work at various heights above floor with ladder, scaffold, and manlift when required.
- Must be able to work in excavated trenches.
- Must have a 6G certification or able to obtain one.
- Must be able to weld in many positions.
- Must be able to weld many different types of material (both pipe and structural preferred).
- Must understand construction terms.
- Must be able to use Oxygen and Acetylene Torch to cut steel pipe, plate and other components
