Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Classification: Non-Exempt
This position is responsible for coordinating the association’s events. The individual will manage the special events of the association, HBA Charitable Foundation (HBACF) and the Coalition for Building a Better Tomorrow (CBBT). Utilizing data, elimination of current and development of new events may be necessary to meet strategic planning goals and stay true to the HBA mission.
Current HBA events include:
- Home & Outdoor Living Show
- Spring and fall fishing tournaments
- Fall / Holiday member gathering
- Fall golf tournament
- Power Hour, 6 x per year
- Tools of the Trade education series, quarterly
- Builder Roundtable, quarterly
- New Member Orientation, 2 x per year
Current HBACF events include:
- Cornhole tournament
- Smoke alarm give-a-way
Currently there are no CBBT events.
Duties, Responsibilities and Authorities:
- Facilitate event committee meetings - prepare agendas, timelines, supplemental material, and minutes for all event committee meetings.
- Support committee leadership.
- Develop and coordinate the day-to-day management and execution of all events.
- Work with the CEO and Membership Specialist to develop and implement a plan to sell event sponsorships.
- Track registration and attendance for events.
- Complete post-event follow through including thank you notes, final budget, collection of statistics, tracking suggestions for consecutive events and full report to CEO, staff and committee members.
- Recruit and retain event volunteers.
- Assist with annual budget planning for special events revenue and expenses.
- Assist in answering the phone.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the CEO.
Requirements:
- Able to work by establishing priorities and strict timelines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Canva and/or Photoshop
- Working knowledge of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Maintain customer service at levels that exceed the expectations of all clients.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
