TF Operator - Level A Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for a Thermoforming Production Lead in the Thermoforming department on 2nd Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm, with additional $0.50/hr. shift differential) here in our Sparks, NV location.

Experience (preferred or required):

• HS degree or equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of strong manufacturing experience with proven ability to drive results. 
• Experience working in plastics industry (thermoforming, extrusion) preferred.
• Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leads and drives safety initiatives in department.
• Demonstrate equipment operations, work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced associates for training.
• Work 8 hr. Shifts and occasional OT.
• The ability to occasionally lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Observe, follow and model all safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Operates thermoforming, extrusion, packaging, and material handling equipment as required in a safe and professional manner.
• Thoroughly understands the production process as it pertains to thermoforming and/or extrusion to produce the highest quality parts.
• Monitors machines or equipment for alarms, indicators, and or unusual sounds to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with the Thermoforming Manager and/or Technical Lead to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, as required by position assignment.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Work with other team members to complete tasks and achieve department goals.
• Demonstrated competence at coaching/developing employees.
• Works closely with Site Manager, Operations and HR to assure facility compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and governmental requirements.
• Must be able to accurately complete all administrative paperwork.
• Leads by example and performs all job duties in accordance with The HC Companies values – Safety, Integrity, Commitment to Excellence, Teamwork, Service, and Can-Do attitude.
• Supports all company policies and procedures including 5S and focused work teams.
• Performs other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
