Job Summary
The Lead Application Developer develops database and web applications to support the Patient Account Service Center (PAS). The position is responsible for ascertaining business requirements from PAS business users and incorporating those requirements into applications that meet the defined need(s). The position is also responsible for assisting the Application Development Manager with other duties as assigned including maintenance and support of ongoing applications.
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Develop, support, and maintain database and web applications
- Identifies and documents technical requirements by working with business users.
- Provides development timeline and tasks and follows development project plan (if applicable).
- Develops prototypes/models and determines sources of data (if applicable).
- Develops database and web components that comply with technical requirements and development standards.
- Develops and executes application unit testing plans.
- Facilitates system and user acceptance testing.
- Creates and maintains application documentation.
- Analyzes and executes change requests and enhancements.
- Resolves application issues.
- Develops appropriate application controls to mitigate operational and financial risks.
2. Act as a liaison between Application Development and PAS business users.
- Actively participates in application design sessions.
- Provides technical guidance to business users.
- Devises technical solutions to promote business activities.
3. Mentors Application Developer(s).
- Assists Application Developer by fostering best demonstrated development practices.
4. Assists with other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Organization - proactively prioritizes needs and effectively manages resources. Follows department development standards and change control processes.
- Communication - communicates clearly and concisely (oral and written)
- Customer orientation - establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations
- Tactical execution - demonstrates personal ownership of tasks and follows through to get the required results in the established timeframe.
- Technical skills – strong relational and multi-dimensional database skills including design and configuration, advanced web development skills, and experience integrating database, web and business intelligence tools to deliver end-user technical solutions.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree Information Systems or related degree.
- Equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement.
Experience:
- 5 years Information Technology experience including database and web application design required
- Experience with SQL, .Net and C# is required
- Experience with NBC and Angular is preferred
- Experience with HCA systems preferred
- Successful leadership experience
