HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
What you will do in this role:
The Director is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to Endo patients. The Director provides direction to the Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and in providing supervision of the Surgical Services area. The Director supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the Hospital. Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs.
- Prepares and analyzes extensive department financial management information and data, noting variances and developing action plan(s) to address such variances. Recommends and meets appropriate Labor, Operating, and Expense targets as indicated by Benchmarking data.
- Operationalizes and supports department performance improvement (PI philosophy through the implementation of performance improvement at the department level and ensuring the ongoing maintenance of performance and quality control measures.
- Develops unit specific policy and procedures to ensure smooth operations.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates programs for the recruitment and retention of qualified competent staff while monitoring performance standards including orientation and continuing education of all personnel and promoting fair labor practices. Develops action plan for Recruitment specific to Perioperative Services and able to fill current positions.
- Manages fiscal budget to control operational and capital expenditures while monitoring and adjusting staffing patterns to improve unit productivity.
- Identifies issues and trends within the organization, respective department, and nursing, and participates in and develops strategic planning as it involves their department.
- Responsible for development of all department personnel, including but not limited to, unit specific orientation and continuing education, compliance with annual hospital required in-services, assessment of qualification and competence.
- Evaluates customer satisfaction and develops actions where necessary.
- Responsible for professional growth and development of self and others.
- Responsible for the professional development of staff, including but not limited to, supporting certification for specialty area, and involvement in professional associations and community.
Qualifications
What qualifications you will need:

Prefer BSN, Prefer Masters Prepared (Business or Nursing)

Current licensure in Texas as Registered Nurse

5 years general OR, previous management experience and Endoscopy experience preferred
- CPR with American Heart Association
