We are seeking a(an) Outpatient Therapy Office Assistant for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Job Summary and Qualifications
The Outpatient Therapy Office Assistant will assist the Rehabilitation Services department manage the patient flow process within the outpatient clinic and other duties affiliated. The specialist will be required to complete the following:
- Customer support to patients, families, physicians, and staff.
- Receive new referrals from physician offices; obtain appropriate demographics and insurance, and schedule new, recurring, follow up visits. (Telephone or fax)
- Complete all registration functions, including, verification of benefits, pre-registering, activation, obtaining copies of identification cards/insurance, etc and signatures. Explain and provide all documentation relating to living wills, POA, consents, and related policies deemed appropriate by the PAS.
- Complete insurance verification, understand and explain patient liabilities, collect deductibles/co-pays, and refer patients to financial counselor when necessary. Maintain documentation regarding all insurance contacts and information regarding pre-certification requirements or authorization. Provide patient with receipts and complete required PAS entries for logging monies.
- Obtain all appropriate information/documentation necessary to activate patient chart.
- Complete required PAS information for QA.
- Manage medical records including preparation and disassembly of charts, chart organization, faxing to physicians, and documentation in chart re: cancellations/no-shows, and insurance logging.
- Work station organization regarding supplies, photocopying, filing, faxing, etc.
- Telephone service, patient education and directional support.
- Skills in multi-tasking while using the phone and communication with patients and staff.
What qualifications you will need:
- High School Graduate / GED
