Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking a Revenue Integrity Analyst Registered Nurse (RN) to determine the appropriateness of patient charges and Charge Description Master (CDM) assigned HCPCS/CPTs by reviewing the medical record, facility protocol and other applicable documentation. analyzes and resolves billing edits that are holding patient claims from billing by reviewing medical records and other applicable documentation. The RI Analyst assists in reviewing the appropriateness of patient charges and Charge Description Master (CDM) assigned HCPCS/CPTs by reviewing the medical record, facility protocol, and other applicable documentation. The RI Analyst makes necessary adjustments to patient account charges based on regulatory and payor guidelines. What you will do in this role:

• Determine the appropriateness of patient charges by verifying billing data for accuracy and completeness and by following regulatory requirements to resolve edits or exceptions.
• Apply modifiers when appropriate or make necessary adjustments to patient account charges and/or balances.
• Analyze accounts for specialized billing requirements that require clinical review of medical record documentation, regulatory information, and HCA standards.
• Identify charging, coding or clinical documentation issues and work with appropriate leadership and ancillary departments to resolve issues.
• Serve as chargemaster liaison to facilitate clinical department education on appropriate charging of CPT codes and revenue codes.
• Combine or split accounts as appropriate.
• Serve as the liaison between facilities, shared service centers and ancillary department directors regarding charging issues, clinical documentation issues and revenue opportunities.
• Provide charge review results and develop and coordinate educational training for facility staff related to charging/billing issues.
• Coordinate retrospective, concurrent, patient requested and external billing audits.
• Review denial trends for documentation and charging opportunities.
• Review regulatory and compliance communications, applicable CMS transmittals and location coverage decisions and assess impact to revenue integrity procedures and implement changes as needed.
• Participate in customer service events at the facility such as facility FEC Committee, new director onboarding, charge education and report charging issues as needed.

What qualifications you will need:

• RN or other advanced nursing degree required
• Healthcare experience in an acute care hospital or coding experience preferred
• Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes or experience in charging or performing charge reviews
• Active RN license or other advanced nursing license required, compact license for all states accepted
