Description
HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Registered Nurse positions at State Farm Worker Center in State Farm, VA.
Position is full-time, night shift- (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) AND full-time, day shift (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
They will be required to work every other weekend and one major winter and one major summer holiday.
Duties of the Registered Nurse (RN):
- Demonstrates motivation to undertake assigned duties, meet mandated in-service and competency requirements
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Approaches patients at all time s in a therapeutic and respectful manner.
- Assist Head Nurse in developing and meeting overall goals of the Unit.
- Assist the Head Nurse in maintaining a therapeutic and safe environment.
- Monitor the work of other nursing staff as assigned.
- Teach psychiatric skills and promotion of Recovery through clinical supervision of other staff and through demonstration (role model).
- Demonstrates knowledge of mental illness, co-occurring
- disorders, available community resources, appropriate
- interventions and coping mechanisms.
- Provide nursing care to support the patient in meeting Recovery based therapeutic goals that focuses on strengths, possibilities and resources of the patient set by
- the patient in collaboration with his/ her Treatment team.
- Complete nursing assessments accurately on all newly admitted patients, filing and documenting appropriate conclusions, based on information.
- Work with the physician at the time of the patient's admission to identify immediate problems and initiate plans of care for both physical and psychiatric needs.
- Perform ongoing assessments and documentation of the physical and mental condition of patients, using appropriate interventions based on each patient's treatment plan. Inclusive of Daily, Weekly, and Monthly assessments consisted with policy.
- Collaborates with the Treatment team in planning, implementing, assessing outcome, and revising patients' treatment plans
- Educates patients and family based on needs assessment and treatment plan.
- Works with patients on individual basis to increase skills as indicated in the patient's treatment plan.
- Using the Recovery Model and Psychosocial Rehabilitation approach, work with patients on an
- individual and group basis to increase skills needed for optimum functioning, focusing on strengths and learning needs.
- Participate and function as leader of skill building groups using appropriate modules. Assist in developing patient skill building programs.
- Initiate and encourage interaction with patients to further skill building in socialization, problem solving and illness management.
- Participates in seclusion process safely to prevent ham1 to the patient or others and provide accurate documentation of the seclusion /restraint process.
- Performs procedures according to policy, including invasive and non-invasive, and based on level of training
- and current competency.
- Performs medication administration according to policy.
- Actively seeks updated information on medication and proactively participates in educational opportunities
- provided including mandates.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate must be from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN) within 90 days from hire
- 1 - 2 years RN Experience, correctional experience preferred.
- TB Screening, completed within in the last year
- Physical, completed within the last year
- Ability to pass a VA Criminal Background check
- Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screening
