- Establishes program objectives by analyzing program proposals and collaborating with fellow engineers and management.
- Ability to take provide hands-on technical support for existing and new processes and machinery.
- Supporting program planning by determining time frame, content and funding for projects.
- Develops and supports interfaces for equipment communications with shop-floor tools and devices.
- Provides electrical designs and programming within applicable standards to build new or modify existing production machines and systems.
- Responsible for changes to ladder logic and software including, but not limited to: Safety Systems, PLCs, HMIs, Robotics, SCADA and PC based logic.
- Confirms program performance by establishing standards; testing requirements.
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Accountable for delivering project and equipment goals and objectives.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
- Monitors scope of project and the need for management attention.
- Abides and practices corporate and OSHA and NEC standards for electrical systems standardization
- Assist with defining MES/Ignition/Apriso solution architectures and develops detailed design specifications.
- Define MES solution architectures and develops detailed design specifications.
- Provide expert knowledge and experience regarding equipment programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to guide, and sometimes accomplish, technical effort required to implement complex MES solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science, 4-yr degree in Electrical Engineering / Engineering or similar field degree, or equivalent experience is required.
12 years’ experience in multiple functions such as manufacturing engineering, operations, quality, project management is required.
Expert knowledge of complex automation with PLC background, special machines, hydraulics, pneumatics, SCADA systems, and robotics programming interface preferred.
Understanding and experience in the Project Management Life Cycle process is required.
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills are required.
Hands-on manufacturing involvement in the launch of a new machinery project implementation experience is required.
Expert level experience programming with Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs, Ignition (SCADA), along with various Robot brands is required.
