Job Position: Warehouse Associate/Driver
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Department Operations Location: New Bern, NC
Position Summary:
Shipping
- Ensure that all paperwork from shipments is turned in daily
- Set up freight for shipments (Direct, LTL, Hotshot, etc…)
- Determines method of shipment to ensure competitive rates and on–time secure delivery of product
- Prioritizes and sorts work orders to ensure efficient loading and unloading of product
- Stage materials for all Work Orders in a timely manner
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Double check orders that have been pulled for shipping or fabrication
Receiving
- Ensure that all receipts are turned in daily
- Processing returns for incorrect or unsatisfactory items
- Receives incoming shipments and places in inventory
- Comparing purchase orders with invoices and packaging lists
- Organizing and storing received items in appropriate areas
- Communicating with Purchasing regarding delays or problems
- Unloading deliveries from trucks
- Double check vendor packing slips
- Receive inventory in ERP within 24 hours
Inventory
- Enter and complete transfer orders as necessary
- Recognize and document inventory discrepancies and report to Operations Manager through adjustment forms
- Participate in Inventory Counts
- Organize and maintain Staged Order filing
Safety
- File and report all safety incident paperwork as necessary
- Maintain organization and housekeeping for warehouse and yard areas
Primary responsibility is to deliver products to local customers along with picking and
packing orders accurately and quickly. Additional assigned tasks and specific duties listed
below also apply
- Compares identifying information of incoming & outgoing shipments to verify information against invoices,
orders, or other records to ensure accuracy of shipment
- Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service
providers, and others involved in the shipment of products
Driving
- Load trailer with materials or machines
- Strap materials according to DOT guidelines
- Preshift on truck and trailer required
- Notify manager of any defective or damaged equipment on the truck or trailer
- Ensure paper gets signed by appropriate person and turned in to manager
Physical Requirements
- Continuous physical exertion such as walking, standing, squatting, bending, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering materials and equipment
- Safe, repetitive lifting of up to 70lbs
Minimum Qualifications
Basics
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 18yrs of age
- Must pass a drug test
- Must pass a background check
- Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
- Must pass Pre-employment Test(s) (If applicable)
- Must pass Pre-employment Physical
- Must have Class A CDL***
Equipment
- Certified Forklift Operator
- Lifting / Rigging Training (Recommended)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience
- Basic computer skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Product Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Basic math skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
