Primary Responsibilities:
In the role of Inspector, we'll count on you to:
*Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelines
*Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects
*Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing
*Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress
*Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications
*BS in Engineering or Construction Management with one year of experience or NICET Level 2 with two years of experience
*Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
*Considerable knowledge of construction materials, methods; ability to maintain field and office records; ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations; ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; ability to deal effectively with people.
*Strong written communication skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing
*An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
* CTDOT experience
* NETTCP HMA Paving Certification
* NETTCP HMA Concrete Certification
* Familiarity with COMPASS and AASHTOWare
*Ability to interpret construction schedules
