Location: Boston, MA 02115
Position Type: Full-Time, Salary, Exempt
Overview:
The Program Manager- scatter-site Shelter Programs manages an emergency assistance (EA) scattered-site program(s) with the overall responsibility for service delivery to homeless families with the ultimate objective of assisting families with achieving economic viability and stable housing.
Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions:
- Assures the integrity of the facility and ensures standards for safety and sanitation are maintained- unit inspections to be completed in person
- Supervises staff and evaluates performance with guidance from the Assistant Director of Family Services.
- Oversees the delivery of client services, makes assessments of program impact and recommends program/policy changes.
- Performs all other reasonable on site/in person related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Family Services and/or the Director of Family Services.
- Participate in an on-call rotation which may require in person if emergency/crisis arise
- Other essential duties that require on site/in person presence as they arise as part of this job description
- Must assume any essential urgent duties due to direct reporting staff vacancies, which may include on site/in person presence
- For any position that has an on-call rotation as part of the standard job description, the possibility of on-site/presence is a possibility when on-call

Work Environment (should include noise level, physical demands such as bending, sitting, lifting) Example:
Cubicle space within large office building; prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer, OR, requires equal amounts of sitting and standing, must be able to climb stairs. Office is open to the public and visitors only by appointment. Position requires a minimum of four days onsite. Office is climate controlled with heat and air conditioning.
Qualifications
- Three years of experience or equivalent experience in human services
- Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree, with major in Human Service or related field preferred. Any combination of experience and education that equips candidate to perform above mentioned tasks
- Administrative and supervisory experience
- Excellent communication skills- written and oral; creative; able to work independently and in team; ability to handle crisis and public relations.
- Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs up to three or more sets, frequently move equipment weighing up to 25 lbs., must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Salary : $56,000 - $68,000
