What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - OB - SMMC position at Health Advocates Network?
- General job duties. Types of procedures required. Ideally crossed trained in all 3 areas of OB (labor/delivery, postpartum, nursery). C-sections occur on this unit with assistance from our surgical team. Knowledge of sterile technique and experience as circulating nurse/surgical assist would be beneficial. Breastfeeding education and assistance for our patients.
- Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) Epic, Stork, Pyxis
- Required skills and minimum years of experience. 2 years as an OB nurse would be ideal.
- Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc) NPR, BLS, ACLS
- Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?) 36 hours/week, weekend hours, some call if needed but not mandated, will work as a team
- Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?) When/if floated would include patient sitting and tasking RN duties, no patient assignments on other units.
- Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 4 labor, 5 PP
- Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 1:3-4 PP; 1:1 labor
- Dress Code: Facility provided OR scrubs
- Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Would be beneficial to complete our program for surgical scrub/assist due to limited surgical resources on 3rd shift.
