A day in the life of a Clinical Computer Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Implements and maintains the Perioperative and OR Scheduling data bases (HSM, HBI, HEMM, HTM, etc). Tests and documents all data base modifications (upgrades, new implementations, etc).
- Enters Inventory locations in HEMM. Troubleshoots hardware and software problems in the OR (HSM, HTM, PHS, PACS). Coordinates and provides computer training. Performs global updates and updates resource maps as needed.
- Assigns procedures to surgeons based on what was credentialed. Creates resource maps for the new physicians and for new/additional procedures as needed.
- Reviews all items not found in the HSM data base. Enters new item according to policy.
- Performs OR charging functions as needed. Reviews OR (Mediplex) charges before they are processed.
- Trains employees to perform OR charging. Updates charging procedure as needed. Acts a liaison to Finance, ISD, and Materials.
- Prints routine reports. Creates new computer reports as needed and requests for Peroperative data bases (HSM, HBI, Surgery Compass, etc.).
- Reviews OR nursing data entry reports and makes corrections or has nursing make corrections as needed.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs and graduation from approved nursing school.
- Operating Room Nurse experience.
- Working knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office and ClinStar). Knowledge of daily OR
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
- Minimum of 3-5 years Operating Room Nurse experience.
