What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Administrative Assistant position at Health Releaf?
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain excellent customer service
- Assist in assuring patient wait time target goals
- Coordinates and implements general office services such as appointment scheduling, records control, and other administrative activities.
- Analyzes unit operating practices such as record keeping systems, forms control, office layout, and personnel requirements, suggests new systems or revises established procedures
- Interprets and communicates operating policies to new staff, visitors, and patients
- Train new employees as needed
- Assists with special events planning
- Maintain email, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software
- Answer multi-line phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller's needs yourself
- Greet patients upon arrival, check them in appropriately and obtain insurance information and any other necessary data
- Provide patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents
- Process payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits using Square and our EHR
- Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on provider availability
- Communicate with patients via phone, email and EHR to remind them of upcoming appointments and to help them schedule testing for on-site or off-site services
- Provide patients with support and guidance as needed
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.50 per hour
