How YOU will make a Difference:
As the Stop Loss Program Manager at HMA, you will play a key role in building and maintaining our relationships with our stop loss partners and negotiating contracts. The role supports both internal and external customers with evaluation of renewal and proposals leveraging carrier overview analysis. Your contributions to HMA’s success include improving global understanding of the stop loss market, providing recommendations regarding partnerships and continued improvement of processes.
What YOU will do:
- Be a direct contact for Account Managers, Health Informatics, Sales, Sales Operations and Stop Loss Team. Support questions regarding reporting and renewals providing direction as needed.
- Support Account Managers and Sales Ops with marketing for renewals and proposals. Provide assessment of carriers supporting conversations with brokers, Account Managers and Sales Executives.
- Develop a process to collect renewal stop loss polices and work with Account Managers to obtain signed SPDs and send to stop loss carriers for mirroring endorsement.
- Maintain Stop Loss partnerships and keep individual carrier procedural requirements updated. Including carrier comparison overview, semi-annual meetings, participate in trainings and other stop loss carrier sponsored events.
- Track market loss ratio.
- Documentation of issues and trends in the stop loss market.
- Negotiate contracts, renew service agreements, enhance carrier vetting process for new relationships, create marketing comparisons, develop relationship strategies and present to stop loss committee.
- Manage and maintain backlog, process and procedures. Update documentation of process and procedures as necessary. Train the team on stop loss concepts as well as report out market updates and trends.
- Must be able to assess internal and external customers' needs and respond to inquiries both timely and professionally.
- Strong emphasis on verbal communication with our clients, stop loss markets, vendors and departments within our organization.
- Collaborate with Operations and Sales for end of contract reviews.
- Pipelining of new groups
Knowledge, Experience, and Key Attributes needed for Success:
- 1-2 years previous health insurance claims experience.
- Thorough understanding of Self-Funding and Third-Party Administrating concepts.
- Facilitation skills for internal and external stakeholder meetings
- Passionate about delighting customers by consistently exceeding expectations
- Computer skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite products, SmartSheet, Microsoft Dynamics etc.
- Strong problem solving, time management, business analysis and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
